In very hot weather at the sea in the afternoon fishing session, the use of a jig or fake bait is not proactive/practical. I have decided to use a fresh slice cut of squid and put it on the Hariyoshi hook (sizes 20 & 22).
When the boatman drifts the boat, I release down the bait to the sea bead.
Not too long to wait to get the fish strike. A combination of scent from the squid and wave-flashing from the hooks make a great companion to have a successful strike.
